mine mine mine

Hello, Mikael from Sweden checking in

So the 50 year crisis hit and I found myself buying a bike again.
Looked around for some cheap used one but all was "well used" or to expensive, found this little green thing and got a resonable price. Less money than a good used one.
But suddenly the devil hit me and I just had to buy accessories, bling and some hopefully good things
Maybe this forum is partly to blame?
Ah well if there is moneys left when you die its a failure

Done:
R&G tail tidy and crash protectors
Pillion, tank pads and saddle from Kawasaki
Some random rim stripes

Ordered: (arriving this week?)
Puig windscreen
Shorter adjustable levers
Boosterplug

Maybe:
Ermax belly pan
SC-project exhaust
12-39 gearing

Dreaming?
Öhlins suspension.

Its a small bike or even very small, but so nimble and so fun to drive.
The on/off throttle response is to hate though, seems most Euro4 bikes is that way.
Spoke to a guy with good experience from a Boosterplug on this bike so Ill try.
The higher saddle made a huge difference, I even got some cramps before (maybe it was just me beeing older and unused?)

I owned the bike for 2,5 weeks now and made 2200km, first service done.
Seems its the best thing that happened to me since she threw me out
Got me some new gear also, since there was som fluffy things growing on my leather gear, sadly i went cheepo there so I need to buy better next year.

Got my MC license at 16yo and had bikes for like 15 years.
First was a Honda CB125, my moped was faster than that. Got me a Yamaha RD125 (2 cyl 2 stroke), tuned it and yeah that was a funny thing.
Had my brothers Honda CB750 for a while and moved up to a Honda CB900 BolDor, that bike was horrible. Well used and some extremly noicy 4-1 that made it run like ****.
Got me a Honda CB1100F wich I had for 10 years, I loved it even if it was like a bus.

Forgot that I made a holder for a TopBox.
Bought the stuff that hold the pillion, like 50euros
And bolted this to the TopBox mounting.
Now I can alter between Pillion or TopBox with my key and there is no "ugly" holder visible.

BR/Mikael

Tja Micke! Välkommen!

It's a great bike!
I got SVEDEA "märkesförsäkring" the other day and pay around 4000kr/y with full coverage.

What's a boosterplug?

Congrat on you new z650. I bought the z650 at age 55 after 30 years not riding. It has been fun riding it for 39,000 km so far.

Love what you have done with regard to accessories.

Can you give more details on how you make the topbox holder. Video or pictures. I am thinking of buying a used rear seat put some screw and attached the topbox plate. TQ

Hej Amire! tackar!

I got the same insurance, paying 1911kr/y. Probably due to age and living at the countryside

Got it yesterday and made some 100km with it.
They claim a lot and it makes what they say.
But its not that fantastic that they claim, definitely an improvment in driveability.
I need more time and kilometers to evaluate properly.
So far good enough to recommend it.

39000km in about a year? impressive!

Pic on brackets on pillion underside.
Pic on barckets I bought and just screwed on topbox plate.
Pic with partsnumbers I used

I'm going to put a plate to cover and give some strenght.
Maybe a rubbermoulding
But if you find a used rear seat it will probably be a better choice.

Thank you for the details pic of of the topbox holder. Creative, yup plate cover and rubber molding to keep the rain water out. Over here when it rains it pours.
