Kawasaki unveiled two new bikes at INTERMOT and they’ve also revealed that two more models will officially debut at EICMA next month; the Z900 And Z650.
For 2017, the Z900 will be getting a huge upgrade
including an all-new steel trellis frame which houses a 948 cc in-line-four engine that’s based off of the Z1000’s 1043cc power plant. The engine will deliver 124.5 ponies, enough to get the 210.5 kg (464 lb) bike moving. There’s also a new 3.9 kg (8.6 lb) aluminium swing-arm added to the back along with ABS.
the 794 mm seat height will give the Z900 ‘nimble handling’ and rider ergonomics is slightly aggressive with a forward position and wide bars. But the Z900 could still be used as a daily ride with an assisted slipper clutch to make it easier to manage and reduce back-torque on down-shifts.
Other features include inverted front forks with stepless rebound damping and pre-load adjustability, both also being available for the rear shock. Coming in grey and black, green and black, blue and grey or metallic black and ‘spark’ black, the Z900 looks mean no matter the color.
The smaller 2017 Kawasaki Z650 that’s replacing the ER6-N will retain many of its predecessor’s characteristics.
Like the Z900, it will get a new trellis steel frame that will be housing a 650 cc parallel-twin engine. It’ll also get the assisted slipper clutch, a shorter riding height of 790mm, underbody exhaust, Tokico brakes, new headlamp, dashboard and side panels.
Once on sale, the Z650 will come in white and black, green and black, ‘raw titanium’ and black or metallic black and ‘spark’ black.
