So I have a new throttle tube (g2 throttle tamer) and grips sitting on my desk, and I'll admit I have no idea how to get the bar ends off to change out the grips and get the new tube on there. Ive read a few of the threads about removing the weights, but I imagine I may not need to go that far, since I will be putting the stock ends back on for now.

Has anyone changed out grips, and might be able to share experience?

I'm reasonably mechanically inclined, but have little experience with motos.

Cheers

Impact gun will get the bar ends off real easy. The grips are a test in mental fortitude. Sometimes they're easy, sometimes not. Get a hair dryer or something to help soften the rubber as you try to remove them. I usually score them a little with a knife if I'm not trying to save them. The weights come out with the bar ends when you remove them.

Here ya go. One of my first vids on this bike.

Removing grips is easy. Either use compressed air to inflate and slide off the grip, or wiggle a spray straw under the grip and shoot some WD40 in there. Just be sure to degrease really well afterwards if you use that method.
