I've been on my stock set of tires and have about 4k miles. My back tire needs to be changed according to the indicator in the tread.

I ordered Michelin Road 5 for my rear tire and haven't ordered the front. My front tire still looks ok, but should I change tires at the same time? Would I notice a significant difference in the grip and the ride if I change both? Or is most of the work done by the rear tire?

If you change styles of tires or brands, it's best to get a matched set. Motorcycle tires are designed to work in unison with it's mated counterpart. Once you find a brand you like, usually your front will last 2-3 of the rear. On this bike, a 180 is going to be a close fit. It's probably the maximum you would want to go. I'm perfectly fine with the 160's. The quick turn-in suits me better.
