So here's how I think the coolant system works as temps ramp up...
Up to 180deg Thermostat is closed
Around 180deg Thermostat opens
180-218deg Radiator flow open
219deg Fan turns on (and will stay on until the temp drops to 210)
239 deg Engine Overheated, warning light on.
I wish I could find out at what temps that 6-segment digital thermometer thing on the dash corresponded to. (Like should that darned fan be on at 5 segments?)
Drives me nuts having an idiot gauge instead of actual temp.
