Just received my fender eliminator by Vagabond Motorsports today and installed it. The process was very easy and the finished product looks fantastic; would highly recommend to anyone, plus they have a great instructional video on how to install it on their youtube channel.

Put the Yoshi eliminator on a while back... It looks nice, but it's a pain in the ass to swap the plate once it's on. The license plate frame/border is part of the structure of the kit, and is required to keep it bolted to the bike. I like it, but if you don't - this isn't the kit for you. Photo below.

I made one years ago that was just on a spring loaded hinge and I ran a fishing line to the front so I can pull it. It worked good but what i didn't like is that it moves a lot at high speeds and I didn't want a cop to see it move since it could be trouble.

Hide plate gadget I was looking at thats electric isn't big, its the same size as the USA motorcycle license plate 7x4 and its only about 1 inch thick it by trydeal www.TRYDEAL.com

Hello!!
Does someone know if are accepted to pass the MOT - UK / TÜV - Germany / ITV - Spain (compulsory vehicle test in Europe) ?

Thanks in advance
Hey there,

I ordered the Vagabond kit because it seems to be the ONLY kit that retains both the factory blickers and the license plate light.
Unfortunately, the kit does comply with european regulations. The tilt of the license plate must not exceed 30°.
I havent installed the Vagabond but using my Photoshop skills, the Vagabond should cause the plate to be somewhere around 40°-45° which is a felony here in Germany!
In Italy, they actually can seize your bike for this.

So what Im going to be doing is manufacturing a small extension plate that will bring the Vagabond kit a little bit "back / out". The four studs have to be removed for that.

Best regards,
Alex

What about 1 inch rubber washers or thicker behind the license plate. You'll need longer screws. Not sure how it would look but it should stand the plate up a little more. And could be cheaper.

The Vagabond bracket is aluminum and can be easily bent to the desired angle once it's mounted. I had to use the Z125 kit and modify it to fit the z650. The angle on that particular kit was way more than the Z650. Just a little pressure once the tag was mounted, and I bent it right where it needed to be. No tools or modifications required :)

Hey there,

that does not work because of the dimensions of the license plate. Its about double the height of the US plate.
If I was to bend the bracket, the plate would literally scratch my tire when I am on the bike.

I get to ~41° using rubber washers to bring the plate up a little but thats all I can do.
Sucks big time because I am unable to find any other assembly that retains all factory lights.

So I guess there is no way around the adapter / extension plate to bring the Vagabond kit out a little bit. Hate to do that because I doubt messing up the Vagabond kit in the first place wil improve the looks...

Attached pic shows my bike with the Vagabond and plate installed.

Cheers
