Former Ninja 300 rider here from Australia. Had a great time on the 300 for a couple years, but had to sell a while ago to pay some bills. As it goes though, getting the itch to get another bike and have grown increasingly fond of naked bikes instead of faired bikes. Bit tired of plastic fantastic fairings, want to get back to basics and see the engine under the petrol tank.

Currently deciding between one of the 650-ish naked twins, particularly the new SV650, MT07, or the new Z650. The look of the older Er6n naked never appealed to me, it always looked a little off to me, but I really like what Kwakka have done with the new Z650, and since my first bike was a Kwakka, I bleed a little green and so want to give the Z650 a fair chance.

Anyway, keen to see if a dedicated forum can develop for the new Z and hear the first owners experiences and issues. It's nice having a dedicated forum for a bike (speaking as a traveller from the N300 forums), so nice t have heaps of model specific info, so hope it takes off.

Welcome to the forums ! The MT 07 does actually look quite appealing. Love the color combo that they have going on across the line with the Night Fluo stuff. What pushes you closer to the Z650 rather than the other two bikes you mentioned ?

Looking forward to what your take on those bikes will be that factor into the final decision.
Handling and engine performance will be two major areas of focus for me and what I plan on discussing more on here.
