Hello, I have owned several bikes all of which have had at least 110hp. Never owed a parallel twin. Comfortable, good looking bike, low seat, I'm 5'7" 165. Good torque numbers; but is it enough? Has anyone been able to get substantial gains from a fuel controller and exhaust? I'm just wondering if an experienced rider would find the bike "boring" after a season or two... on another note new 2014 Honda VFR800F (base) available for $6500 or the Z650 (non abs) for $5,999.00. Thoughts?

I had a Vulcan 800 7 years ago and had to sell it (was going through a divorce). I just got the z650 last month and am very happy with it. I am 5'11 235. This has a lot of get up and go and is nimble as ****! Easily cruises on the freeway very well at 75-85 without even pushing it. At those speeds wind does have an affect. I have a Givi windshield ordered and on the way. This bike to me is VERY comfortable to ride (even at 2 to 3 hours straight). Can't speak to the gains of fuel controller and exhaust, but I will be looking at that soon. This bike will probably not have the top end speeds as your previous larger Horse power engines, but it just depends on if you feel the top end speed is important to you. Not sure if this is any help, but thought I would throw this out there.

I had a fully tuned and modified CBR600RR and Honda CX500 Cafe Racer before moving to Z650. I do miss the high redline of CBR, but I don't miss the fact that by the end of first gear, I was above most speed limits and by end of second gear, I was at go to jail speeds. I'm located in Parker, CO and I have just put over 220 miles on mine. I love it and I feel like it has just enough power to keep you engaged but not enough to get you in trouble. We have Delkevic exhaust company local to us and I'm sure you can gain a few hp/tq by using the rapidbike ecu. Mine is stock ATM and I haven't had any complains so far. If you get one, we can go on rides together :)
G-Force in Lakewood had non-ABS for like $5400 or so before taxes. PM me and I can give you the number of salesperson I bought my bike from. Texts right away and very helpful. I looked at Hondas and they didn't have anything naked that I liked. I work on my bikes myself and just tired of bikes that are hard to work on (fairings).
Ping me if you have any specific questions.
