Here's a run down of parts needed, where to get, and how I mounted an auxiliary 12VDC outlet to charge USB devices, cell phones and extra GoPro batteries while riding. This port will also double as a quick connect for my solar battery tender during the harsh winter months. Enjoy!

I realized after the first night on my trip a couple weeks ago that I had forgotten to wire up a device charging setup onto my Z650. I had one on my last bike, but I forgot to transfer it. I ended up grabbing some parts out on the road and wiring one up in the camp site with very similar placement to yours. They sure do make charging your devices out on the road a lot easier. I want to connect a gps tracker to the bike that gets power when ignition is on.
I found a cable in the back, but it only gives around 7-9v. But it was free and I have no idea what it is for. I am using it right now for the gps traker.
Will that be an issue?
Does anyone know what the cable is for?
