I'm thinking about installing this horn, it gets great reviews from many bikers. My question is do you think the plastic housing on the horn will get too hot and possibly melt due to the placement of the OEM horn?

The OEM horn is metal, and sits quite close to the radiator. I would love to have a loud deeper sound than the current chirp, and alert the many texting morons with a loud blast.

There's a chance on longer rides that could become a problem, but you could always look into fabricating some sort of heat shield or heat resistant paints. It might be hard to come across another quality, plug and play product at that price point.

I installed it, seems fine with a couple of rides. I like this upgrade, easy to install, and fun to honk at my friends to wake them up before we get on the road. Loudness!

I bought this 2 months ago.

I ride in hot weather yesterday it was 119°F on my ride home, the temp on my bike is always high especially at stop lights, and I haven't had a problem. Plus its a nice loud air horn sound. Also it mounts up just like the stock horn so no need for mods.
hey can you record the sound that horn makes? the one on Amazon is pretty loud at 112 DBs but its 2 horns ..yours is one at 113DBs..Right?

Lookup mini sounbomb on YouTube there are many. From what I understand 112 nad 113 are very different. DB isnt a linear thng. So 40db isn't twice as loud as 20db, its way louder than that.
