Also, you can't really go wrong with a $6,999 price tag for a 649cc naked motorcycle.

What bike are you coming from and what other bikes have you owned in the past?

Are you looking at any bike currently aside from the Z650... lots to choose from in and around this segment.

While we wait for a response often I find people in this segment just own one bike, the bike being talked about. It's the bike that does it all. As you go higher up thea CC's then the odds of a second bike increases.

That is true, I have seen a lot of people with liter superbikes that own a smaller 200cc, 250cc, even a 300. But when you have a medium bike, it's an all arounder to keep as one.

It also has to do with demographics, usually those guys on the liters are a bit older, more experienced, higher income, etc. So they have more room to play around with other toys. And odds are they aren't married so no wife to yell at you for having multiple toys while you still haven't bought her that C-Class sedan

Happy wife, happy life - right?! Until you buy her that C-class and she turns around and still tells you no Some of them are quite evil like that... bad experiences haha!

Its the perfect starter bike! Im so glad I didnt go with a 300cc. I would recommend the Z to anyone who wants their first bike.

I bought the Z650 first, kept it, then bought a 2017 Aprilia RSV4RR about a month later. I still love the Z and will continue to ride it along with the Aprilia

After riding several 1000cc bikes (R1, ZX10R, CBR1000) The Aprilia was hands down the most impressive one that I rode. It had the most power, was the most comfortable, etc. After doing tons of research as well, to me, there was no other choice.
