welcome to the club.
I did the same thing, last year; picked up my z in October and didn't ride it until spring.
Great time to do some work on it though, unless it's new of course.
I see you're a fellow canuk. If you're in the ottawa area, join the ottawa riders group on facebook

Yea, I started with safety and comfort mods before investing in anything else. I did heated grips, peg lowering kit and taller seat (I'm 6'3"). Also added frame sliders, but I removed those recently cause I got a crash cage.

Once I rode my z for a season then I decided to do a couple of more things like the crash cage, a tail tidy (Amazon), more teeth on rear sprocket etc...

Off season fun is working on bike.

I would definitely recommend frame and axle sliders. I had the TST industries kit on the new bike before I left the dealer (they put them on for free). I recently dropped the bike while accelerating out of my house parking. The sliders did a fantastic job and I just need to replace my tail cover and fix my foot peg. A LOT cheaper than a dented tank.

Bar end mirrors also look great on the Z. I got the 'FENRIR' ones from Amazon and she looks more brutish with them on. The only pic I have is this one with the wheels off:

The TST industries website has good instructions on mounting the frame and axle sliders (link). They are not particularly difficult to install on the Z.

The bar end mirrors don't vibrate that bad if you do it properly. It took me some effort to remove the OE bar end weights, but I kept the internal weights, which help dampen the vibrations a lot. There's a bit of vibes at like 75+ mph, but that's to be expected on a twin and the OE mirrors felt worse to me.

I dont think that colour is available in the UK. Im in Wales and its just about winter. Here people often 'winter' their bikes but compared to Canada we dont know what cold weather is. Rather than go through all the 'winter' procedures, i will ride mine any chance i get when its not too cold and not wet, power wash it, dry it off and throw in the garage. Surely the best way to keep a bike serviceable is to ride it. This beauty arrives tomorrow, 2020 plate and i cant wait to get stuck into it.

Does anyone have a suggestion for radiator grill protector? I’m going to fit a tail tidy but not much else for now. Not sure if the grill protectors are truly effective or just window dressin?

Awesome color scheme. Only seen one other Z the same color. What kind of exhaust system does it have? Do you like the way it sounds?
Stock exhaust, sounds good enough to me. I feel that with middleweight bikes putting expensive exhausts on to get a better sound is a bit like a British kid putting a go-fast strip on. Vauxhall Corsa. It is what it is, it’s a 650 that can top 120 and has bags of torque. It’s not a Hayabusa. As for the colour, yes, I love this colour scheme, it’s wicked.
