Peak torque on the Z650 is around 7000rpm. It holds nicely until around 8000rpm and then drops off sharply.
Peak power seems to be around 8000rpm and drops off sharply after 9000rpm.
So there's probably very little benefit revving much further than 9000rpm.
That's based on dyno results I got last week for my bike.
