Just a heads-up: while researching swingarm spools, one vendor warned that the right side spool will melt (if it's plastic) from the exhaust being directed at it (from the stock muffler on the Z650). Fortunately, all-aluminum spools are available. I need the spools so I can raise the rear tire with a rear stand. Bolt size is 8 mm for the Z650's spools.

Swingarm Spools
Special advisory:
Due to the location of the factory exhaust, specifically the position of the exhaust outlet, the swingarm spools cannot be used on the bike while riding. The spools should be used during maintenance only (wheel removal, chain maintenance, bike parking/storage, etc.) Use of the spools while riding will cause melting and deformation of the right side spool due to heat directed from the exhaust system.
An exception to this requirement is in a case where a Ninja 650 or Z650 has an aftermarket exhaust that does not direct concentrated exhaust gas onto the spool in the same way as the factory exhaust system.

Pit Bull spools come in either plastic or aluminum (8 mm Spool Kit). I chose the aluminum spools in silver color (unfinished, essentially), since they won't discolor from heat and/or scratching. Revzilla sells them. BTW, the Pit Bull spooled forward handle rear stand works nicely with the Z and these spools. The forward-facing handle has several advantages: easy to juggle, space-efficient, and you're not apt to trip over it. Pit Bull stuff is pricey but it is US-made and very solid.
