What Other Bikes Do/Did You Have?

Hey guys, just wondering what other bikes you have in your garage or even what other bikes you've had prior history with. Always nice to see the more seasoned riders, or even the riders that come from different types of bikes to the Z650 !

My experience is extremely minimal and only had one bike before, albeit it was a smaller bike. Had a CBR250 that I learned on and rode around for a while before getting rid of it.

What about you?

Currently:
2017 Kawasaki Z650, of course ;)
2006 Yamaha R6 (first year of the track ready R6 with fly by wire throttle and race spec clutch, along with other goodies... it's a beast! and most likely going up for sale soon.)

Previously...
2004 Yamaha VStar 1100 (sold 2 years ago)
1997 Kawasaki Ninja 500R

Before that, various dirt bikes. Mostly Suzuki 125's growing up. I tend to keep bikes for a long time.
Ninja 300 is what i'm riding. Since the warm weather started I haven't had time to prep and get back on the road. Maybe in the coming weeks i'll have a chance. Late start to the season but better late than never.

Haven't owned anything prior, although I kinda want a Grom :D
Check out the Grom oil change procedure, if you plan on doing your own maintenance. You have to remove the right side cover. (Youtube has some videos) The Z125 Kawasaki is more normal, just remove the filter. And I think the Kaw is cheaper by $300 depending on the dealer.
I do actually prefer the Z125 over the Grom to be honest. Have been eyeing it for a while but it'll definitely have to come AFTER I grab a Z650 to have my fun with. The Z125 will just be used to make little run around towns with but the Z650 will be my commuter.

its going to be different for everyone, me personally, I like the Grom more due to its aftermarket support. they have it so good that you can find big bore kits and turbo kits for those groms. crazy
Previously had a 2005 Kawasaki Ninja ZX6R 636. It was a beautiful bike, but then someone tried to steal it, and I had insurance cover the fixes for the damages done. Problem was, the shop I took it too fixed the damages from the attempted theft, but then in the process smashed the ignition coil on cylinder 1 and left a bunch of vacuum lines unhooked. They didn't want to own up to it so I spent the last few months fixing those problems myself. Replacing the vacuum lines and damaged coil wasn't bad, it was hunting down the electrical gremlin that was the difficult fix. There was a short in the wiring on the to of my motor from what I believe was caused by the mechanic who used a sledge hammer to drive the coils into the motor. After I fixed it all up, I traded it in on my brand new 2017 Kawasaki Z650. Looking forward to doing some more riding this season than wrenching haha.

I have had somewhere around 70 bikes since 1968. There are currently 6 bikes in the garage. The Z650, a 2013 Harley Sportster Superlow, 2005 Softail Standard, 2000 883XL, 2002 883XL with a 1200 conversion and a 1989 Kawasaki 454 LTD.
I have a Z125 in dark grey in my garage, AND my z650 ABS in my garage XD.

I did have a grom but my cousin wanted it so i traded him. The oil change procedure is much easier on the z125!!

I was planning to sell the z125 though since i bought my z650. Do you guys think i should sell it?

Love that bike. Kaw had several CSR's in different displacements, they were nice looking bikes.

If you still use it occasionally and you can afford it, keep it. If money's tight and it's just gonna sit collecting dust, then get rid of it.
The 2017 Z650 is my current bike. I previously owned a 1998 Suzuki Intruder 800 about 16 years ago. It was a nice little cruiser. I couldn't find a pic of my bike, but found this one online. If I didn't know any better, I'd say this was my bike, because it looks just like it even down to the saddle bags.

30 years ago I had a pair of 250 cc bikes, a Kawasaki single and a Suzuki twin, both small cruisers. After a long hiatus, I started riding seriously again a year ago. Started with a '17 Honda CBR300R, added a '08 Suzuki Boulevard C50 now set up for solo touring, then traded the CBR for my new Z650. The Honda was a great bike to re-learn riding on, but with the Z650 now in the shed I feel no grief for its absence.
The 2017 Z650 I just bought (used) is my first bike in 24 years. I started with a Honda Z50 as a kid and had a couple of Suzuki enduros (125 and 200) in my early 20s. My last bike before the Z650 was a Suzuki Bandit 600 back in the mid 90s.

So far I’m loving my new bike. Plenty of power to get me back into the riding business but not so much that I feel uncomfortable.

Also bought a Sena Bluetooth helmet which I love. And a set of Eargasm earplugs which reduce the wind noise and allow me to hear my music even at highway speeds.

So far so good.
Started on a 78 Goldwing gl1000(sold), 97 Yamaha Vmax 1200(sold), 2018 Yamaha Vmax 1700, and 2019 z650.
Started on a 2006 CBR600F4i, then a 2009 CBR600RR, then a 2001 Harley-Davidson Sportster 883 Hugger, and now the 2018 z650.
