On my commute home today I was having some high speed fun in traffic and came up quick on my exit. I down shifted, made my exit, slowed a bit but wanted a little drag brake to cross 3 lanes.....oh ****! where's my rear brake? It took about double the brake pedal travel to engage. Not a cool surprise at 50mph in thick traffic. After a bit of pumping everything firmed up properly and worked as advertised.

Unfortunately that's the THIRD time it's happened, so I need to get it in to the dealership. No commonality in the 3 times it happened so I'm stumped.

Just wanted to get the word out and I'll post what the dealership says.

Do you have the ABS model? Wondering if it may be triggering.

First check the level in the master cylinder, tho hopefully not a leak. Follow the line to see if all connections are clean.

I do have the ABS and that's my biggest fear. I've inspected the entire brake system and no leaks. I really don't see how air could have got in there but that's what the warranty is for.

Best to bring it into your dealer for a check, can never be to safe when it comes to brakes especially the rear one. Saved my butt a few times.

End of this week I have an appointment. I'll definitely post what they say but I'm not optimistic. Till then I'm just super aware of my right foot.

Welp...no surprise, the maintenance folks at the dealership could not duplicate the problem. They bled the rear brake, checked out all the hardware...no evidence of a problem. Back to commuting at 100mph+!

Hopefully it was just trapped air in one of the lines and they got it resolved.

Oh isn't that always the case, the problem always goes away when you take it in ahaha
